HOW IT WORKS
NOTE
Free Shipping
Each pet portrait will take me approximately 3-4 weeks to complete
GETTING STARTED
Step 1: Order - Choose the size & pricing for your portrait. I will start your pet portrait painting once I receive your order form and an initial 30% deposit.
Step 2: Choose a photo - Send me 3-5 electronic pictures of your pet. I will be painting directly from the photos you send to me. It’s really important that you send me high-quality photos with the following features:
A bright and sharp photo that includes lots of details of your pet's eyes - where the eyes are highly visible and showing how lively they are.
High resolution photos (if possible) so that when I expand the picture to add detail to the portrait, it still shows details rather than getting fuzzy. The higher the quality of your photos, the more realistic your painting will turn out.
Good contrast between your pet and its background — try to provide pictures of your pet with a brighter background so all of the pet's features can be distinguished from the background.
Step 3: Reviewing - I will message/email you a virtual copy of your pet’s finished portrait for your review to ensure you are happy with it.
Step 4: Payment/Shipping - Once I receive your approval and the remaining (70%) payment, your custom pet portrait will be ready for shipping 4 days later (as I will need to seal and varnish the painting).
If you have any questions about this process, please message me by clicking the "Contact" button in the menu bar above.
HOW IT'S MADE
100% hand-painted - no graphics software used
Professional watercolor paint
Watercolor paper | Arches professional watercolor paper (300 lb)
Professional watercolor canvas (1-5/8" deep)
The final product will be sealed and waxed for protection
Process: I study the reference photo of your pet, sketch the basic outline, gradually build up layers of color and contrast to depict the fur texture, carefully paint the face and key features like the eyes and nose, enhance with a suitable background, and finally sealing and waxing it
